The cold weather finally has me looking into buying a pair of riding gloves. I know it's a simple matter, but didn't know if one style was better than another or if a particular brand was a a bit better quality. I would prefer leather if possible.

Big thanks !

Roeckl Gloves without a doubt! After that, I would recommend Heritage Gloves which are the official USEF glove. :)

Dover / SmartPak should have both brands.

I don't think the brand is AS important(it is still very important) as the fit. Go try them on at a tack store and you will be MUCH happier then buying an expensive brand without knowing what size you need.

Roekl are worth the bucks. they are better than a second skin.

oh, I just read that you mean for cold weather? in that case, I dont' know. but for general riding English/dresage, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Roeckl gloves. I used to always have SSG, but the Roeckl's are better, and since they are very expensive, I try very hard not to lose them. but, they are not really warm. Fall/Spring ok, but not icy winter.

Agreed with everyone about Roekls. I absolutely hate gloves but these are thin and have a rubbery finish so they don't feel funky on my hands. And despite being thin they actually hold up pretty well.
