My gelding jumped out of his paddock to join the herd and bumped his knee. The vet did a flexion test and examined the joint and decided the joint was unaffected and the lump is just a fluid filled bruise.

The horse has not been lame and there is no heat in the knee or leg.

So my question is what is the best way to help it heal and try to get rid of the bump as much as possible. I realize DMSO might help, but have never used it before. And I know I might be left with a blemish.

I am also considering getting it x-rayed.
