Has anyone ever heard of the British Horse Society? If you have, what is it and how did you hear about it?

British Horse Society

The BHS is a charity supporting all types of equestrian activities in Britain and to a lesser extent in Ireland. They look out for horses welfare, and rider safety, there are numerous exams and tests that people can sit, and they are the organisation which provides certification for Riding Instructors in Britain and Ireland...

You can take out a membership with the BHS and they provide third party insurance for your horse.

I've heard about it because it's a major part of the horse world if you live in Britain (which I used to), my riding instructor was BHSAI, her yard was BHS approved, they are behind the Pony Club in Britain...
