Is there an age limit for using a loose ring snaffle in pleasure classes, just open shows?? I have been using an eggbutt snaffle and was just trying some out to see which ones he likes best. The double jointed full cheek he HATED head bobbing and teeth grinding kind of hate, eggbutt is ok, but he really likes this thin loose ring snaffle I have. He felt very comfy and was readily reaching for contact where with the eggbutt it was kinda touch and go....but that one is thicker then the loose ring.

Teeth may be part of our problem. The vet is scheduled to come out on the 19th.

Wow...did this ever turn into a story.

Snaffles are allowed for any age horse if you are riding huntseat. Western requires that a horse over 5 years be ridden/shown in a curb bit.

K, thats probably where my confusion was. Used to show western like AGES ago and something was nagging in the back of my mind. Thank you!
