Hi everyone. I was gifted this saddle and would like to gather more info/appraise it if I can. I have no info on it other than that it has Bona Allen stamped on a metal plate. I posted here about a year ago and we confirmed it’s a Bona Allen plantation style saddle. But we didn’t get much further.
I appreciate y’all.
I’d be super grateful for any information!

Reminds me of a Kentucky Stichdown. The stirrups look added at a later date and not original.

You'd likely do better looking into riding groups that use this type saddle. More likely to be gaited owners. Not that we don't have users with this type saddle or gaited horse owners but the likelihood is that there isn't going to be any more information available here a year after your first post.

The company was started in the late 1800s and closed in 1980(?). It's been repaired. Could be a very old saddle that had a BA plate added or a later repair covered the plate. Plate itself doesn't look old enough for it to be earlier than 1950. That would be my guess age wise.

Thank you for kindly! I hadn’t thought to check with the baited community! I really appreciate your direction.
it's a really cool saddle! looks kind of like Portuguese saddles, but yes, it is a plantation saddle
