I just recently bought a monoflap since I am converting from hunters to eventing. I like using a 5 point breastplate with the monoflap, however I have a standard hunter breastplate that I would like to use for practice and schooling. My question is where does a standard hunter breastplate attach to a monoflap? I've seen them attatched to the "d-ring buddies" on the stirrup bars, and I have seen them attatched to the billets. Does it make a difference?

The two straps attached to those rings which join the shoulder straps to the short one that goes over the neck should be buckled to the staples - the loose rings or fixed 'D's under the saddle skirts, just forward of the stirrup bars.

That's because these fittings go through the tree points, rather than just being attached by pieces of thin leather like other saddle 'D's which can break more easily if the breastplate's under stress.
