What's the difference? They don't seem like very different bits.

I don't think there is a huge difference. The Jr Cowhorse seems to have a slightly longer shank, and the butterfly gag shanks have a steeper slant, making it slightly milder than the Jr Cow Horse bit. Both have a gag action, I'm not sure if they're both sweet iron twisted wire mouth pieces or one is copper from the pic.

Well, I just tried to find pics with similar mouthpieces... if I would get one, it would be a 3 piece mouthpiece.
