Hello all Barrel Racers!

I'm just wondering how common it is for those of you who have saddles that fit like a glove to use a 1/2" thick pad size? I have a 3/4" thick and a 7/8" thick. I feel like the 3/4" thick is a bit too much though.

If you ride in the 1/2" is it only for your run? Or are you doing normal 1 hour rides in it too?

Thanks for your opinions. :runninghorse2:

Are you referring to thickness of pad or size and shape of pad used under the saddle?

I work really hard to make sure my horses have well-fitting pads and all I use are a 1/2" pad made by 5 Star on all of them. If your saddle fits well, there's no reason to have an inch of padding.

As far as that goes. Its a bit snug right now. I think the fit could be improved with a thinner pad. The saddle literally fits this horse like a glove and she is a little "fluffy" right now
