4 days since you opened this question of how bad are the hooves thread...
Hoping by now your new horse has arrived.
Hoping by now your attending vet has arrived for the serious once over, the horse is now known to be UTD on vaccinations and the farrier has been scheduled if not due to arrive by weeks end.
The feet are long, but to me not impossible for a good farrier to trim and over a period of time and several trims be put in a much safer for the animal and you condition.
Till those feet are a lot better maintained if she was mine we would do some bonding and spend time together on the ground, nothing strenuous as her balance, trip factor and stress to her tendons and ligaments I would not want to stress any further.
You're now the owner of a very pretty mare who otherwise from her feet looks to be healthy.
So happy for you and happier for the mare she found someone to call her own and who cares....
Enjoy the journey together you have just started....please, some followup pictures of magic your farrier starts the mare on.
Till her hooves though are a much safer length and angle for the animal and your well-being astride stay on the ground...
Can't wait for the pictures....
