Last night my farrier came out and did Bean and Cecil's feet. Then we went to my barn because I told my farrier that Demi's knee was swollen. He looked at it and said it looked like her Medial carpal bone slipped or something.
I have the vet coming out today (We might also preg. test her today). But i just want to know a little bit more about the bones in her knee.
If everything goes good will she still be able to walk/work with her knee
will she be permanently lame
is it fixeable?

^^ Exactly. Right now you have NO idea what's wrong with your horse. Some farriers are very knowledgeble, others don't know squat, so I would take anything you were told with a grain of salt.

While your farrier may know a little about the anatomy of the leg, I wouldn't count on him knowing much more than that. Remember, they are not trained like veterinarians on anatomy and physiology of the whole body or in diagnosis of medical conditions. Carpal bones aren't known for "slipping".

UPDATE:
Yesterday my vet came out. She didn't have an x-ray machine, but she did look at and feel Demi's leg. The vet said it feels like either Arthritis, a slab fracture (If I am thinking right) or she just fell.
The vet is more leaning to arthritis :-( But she gave us medication for her joints to make her feel better and if Demi is not doing better by spring we are going to get another vet that has an x-ray machine to look at it also.


AND!
SHe did a preg test on Demi and first she thought she felt something so she was asking me questions like, "WHen did you get her" December. "How long was she with the stud?" atlest 2-3 years. And she told me that I have a colt taht was made in the fall/winter, so she was like "The colt will be born in fall" And then I saw her get a look in her eye like, maybe that wasn't what I felt. and she tested her again and she found out that it was actually Demi's bladder that was in the way. She said that the bladder feels like a 2 month foal in the womb (I got the mare 2 months ago...) So thank goodness she retested her!

I'm sorry about the leg, but maybe it's not as bad as it looks. Hard to tell without an xray. Did she recommend anything for management until the spring visit?

That's great she's not preggers (I'm assuming that's what you wanted?) Good luck with her knee!

She gave me some medication to put on Demi's leg to help ease the pain.

Yes I am very happy she isn't preggers.
