Well, I was looking up claustrophobia in horses and I think my mare has it. She doesn't like her stumache touched (well with the girth), she doesn't like corners, she doesn't like horses coming really close (unless they're her friend), she doesn't like being tied up to a tie chain with her halter in the stall etc. BUT she's not afraid of trailers. She will walk right in, stand for the whole ride, and go right out! she even teaches people how to load horses! She's not afraid of like a small stall, but that's because she's been in one her whole life...

So does my mare have it?

And if so, what can I do to help her?

My best friends mare has it too, I think. She gets nervous when we get to a part of a trail with no out. In the arena, she doesn't like being between my gelding and the wall.

She sounds similar to your mare. Maybe its just a mare thing.

yeah. that's basically the only thing she's bad with. otherwise she's an amazing mare. no one's perfect tho :wink:

Yep! My mare is has holes too... but I'm convinced they are in her brain. P gotta love em' though!
