I bought a pair of paddock boots last year and this month I was given a pair of used half chaps. Both are pretty dirty right now and I would like to clean them. The boots are made of synthetic leather. The half chaps are suede but in some places its kinda worn and the smoother material underneath is visible. Is there anything specific I should do to clean them? I'm guessing I should get a damp cloth and some soap, but is there a type of soap I need?

Use a brush on the suede to remove as much of the dirt as possible then use a damp cloth.
