I've recently seen a pony for sale as a companion but on his ad it says he is unable to be ridden due to a 'sticky stifle'. The ad says he is unbothered and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with stifles locking, possible treatment/if it's worth it for a companion, possible health problems etc. He is 11.2h and 6 years old. Would obviously be unridden.

I would feel a lot differently if it were an older, senior horse with stifle issues, but a 6 year old? A whole lifetime of problems stemming from that sticky stifle can follow. I would pass, and rather opt for a senior, sound horse.
