Sooo I'm one of those owners that pampers. I try to give her everything she could possibly need although not all at once...little presents that she doesn't understand but useful stuff none the less.
My mom and I just finished up a fun costume show blanket and I was wondering about horse costumes in general. It would be nice to have options or themes for when I'm working with a photographer and he'd like to use her.
Does anyone know of any horse costume type sites? My one problem is she's a 94 length blanket so her costumes if they were full length would be pretty big.
She's a Clydesdale. If she could role her eyes at me I'm sure she would when I drape her in all these colorful type cloths and start measuring her up, down, and sideways.

But they make dog and cat costumes and there are thousands of websites for that stuff. Anything like it for horses? Just curious. :p

I googled "custom horse costumes"
but I only came up with fancy show blankets.
I went to the fabric store and bought a few things and my mom is going to help me, again. I'm making her a spiderweb blanket for Halloween. simple but it'll look fun I think.
I'd still like to find some premade costumes and if I can special order them that's good too.

We did a Santa Claus costume last year. Your mare could be Mrs. Santa Claus. Here's a picture of our pony:

That's adorable!!!! I made her a spiderweb blanket for this year. Something simple with enough fabric left over to matching outfits for the dogs too!

In OHSET (oregon high school equestrian teams) there is a class called Working Pairs and you and a partner have to dress up your horses for points along with the doing the pattern.

I've seen a lot of lions (a mane that is just strings of fabric attatched to a sleezy over the neck, along with a vet wrapped tail making it look like a lion's tail with the tuff of fur at the end).

Here is one video I found that wasn't half bad haha.

How much fun, watch the vid.

The best costume I have ever seen was a bit from Hitchcocks, 'The Birds' . The gal sat side saddle in a green skirt suit like in the movie, lip stick blood marks, with little plastic craft store birds stuck all over. It is more of a halloween thing. But funny as all get out.
