I had no luck in convincing the owners to get their horse's feet done by a farrier, so I ended up grabbing my rasp and getting to work. (I haven't learned how to use nippers/clippers) I was able to do his hind feet that day and I'd love some feedback on how I did. Thanks!
M'kay, I'll try to get better pics. Thanks for the advice!
I guess their horses are just kind of backyard horses that they just throw out in the pasture and don't do much with them. I doubt they've ever had a vet, farrier, or dentist out. I offered to exercise one of their horses. I did suggest getting a farrier out, but they just said that they expect them to wear down on their own. I would have paid for the farrier to come out, but I don't have that kind of money, so I figured I should at least try to do them myself. technically, I don't have to do them, but I owe it to the horse. How can I expect him to carry me when his feet are terrible? So yeah, that's my explaination.
