Please critique Joe and I :) I trained him from the ground up and I'd like to know what you think.

And then this second video is me riding someone else's horse.

Thanks!

I really can't see the first one well enough to have much to say about it. the second one has some nice moments where you are moving very nicely with the horse at the canter.

Can't tell well, but would say you need more impulsion (in both) and posting to actually get out of the saddle and post. (bigger with the horses stride too) it looks like you are pitter pattering at a post lol. I do think you want that (to an extent) with hunters though? It looks like you have a nice position and follow the horses movement well. Is the first saddle a little small for you?

Not a professional critique but hope it helped!

ETA - I guess I would say be more of a leader than a follower. While it doesn't look like you are trying to "work" either of the horses, especially in the first video it looks like the horse is looking for a little more guidance at times. You are quiet, which is awesome, but still need to ride and direct the horse.

Not much to say about the first one…But for the second one the horse looked a bit unresponsive to your cues. She eventually caught on, but I think even after she caught on she looked a bit lazy. You could probably try to 'push her forward' a bit more and that might help. Other than that it was pretty good!

Thanks :)

The first horse is still pretty green and we've been trying to get more impulsion out of him. It's a work in progress. I rode him easy during that video because I think he's due for a chiro adjustment and I didn't want to push it too much. I don't think my saddle is too small. I've never felt more comfortable in an english saddle.

The second horse felt she was too big for that arena lol. She was reluctant to canter. She is a totally different horse outside or in a larger arena :)
