His whithers seem a bit low, or his butt is too high. Of course it could be the ground, the angle, or his age.
His neck also seems very thick but it could be the fuzz.
Its hard to critique when they're foals, but he's still very adorable.
I agree that his neck does seem a little short and fat; it could be that he is so young or so fuzzy... I've seen a little growing do wonders for a horse .
For comparison this is my 7 month old colt (as of now he is solid, though my new trainer just pointed out to me he does have some Sclera). He was 13 hands on Wed when I measured him.
I also think my colt has a bit of a short/fat neck and a pretty weak hind end I hope will change some more with age... though doubtful .
Thanks everybody, he is a cutie!! Hopefully I will be breeding him to my big appy mare who kinda looked like your colt FlyinSoLow. The color is close anyway. She is a solid appy. She is the big one on the left.
It's not fair/good to critique a horse that young. He doesn't look good right now. He's butt high and awkward looking - just like they are supposed to be at that age. He'll see-saw back and forth for the next couple of years. Then when he's done you'll get a better picture of his conformation.
LOL. I agree that it is way to soon to ask for proper critique at this age. All you will be getting is comments on how cute and adorable he is...
But he is just too adorable....when he's shedded out you must send in some pictures.
