It is hard to tell conformation without him standing still. What are you planning on using him for? I think his movements look good but he is young still and that can change. I would be very carefull of a yearling doing those jumps like that becuase his growth plates are still open and the last thing I would want is a screwed up leg or knee. I am sure that they don't do it often but they had to teach him that. Are you planning on leaving him a stud? There can still be alot of cost with a yearling is that something you want or this is a colt that you have been looking for. At this point from what I have seen is not worth $3000 but that doesn't in anyway mean that he isn't just don't have enough infromation. What kind of rider or how much experience do you have with training all important questions and I can give a better idea that he might really work for you! GOOD LUCK!

I dont know why, but something about the way he moves his hind end bothers me. It almost appears stilted and choppy. Now, he is growing, and is butt high, so that does factor into his movement, but still, I would expect to see more freedom of movement in the hind and even in his shoulder

My advice: if you are the one looking at this horse for yourself, dont buy him. Spend the money on training annie, or sell her, and get the yearling.

I see alot of movement and natural extension in the front end, but very little in the rear end. That concerns me, simply because most babies are going to have alot of natural drive, because they haven't been 'ruined' yet. Now, some of that could be because he is a baby, and is in one of those fugly stages; but he actually seems quite level at the moment, so there is no reason his movement shouldn't be level as well. He has a really upright neck and shoulder, as well, so depending on what you are wanting to do with him, keep that in mind.

I'm not really fond of him at all... I agree--something looks 'off' in the hind end.

However, him jumping at a year is fine. Many big-time jumping trainers/breeders in Europe do this to evaluate their youngstock before they sell, and there's no harm in a baby popping over a few jumps--it would be like a mustang foal hopping over some logs/etc. in the wild. It is fine for natural development. It's when you train or drill the movement when it becomes a problem. And seeing as the baby had to FOLLOW someone through... he's obviously not trained to do it! haha

Come on guys--babies aren't GLASS. You just can't pound them into the ground.
