I don't know anyone who uses brow bands on their horses, and I always thought they were very "princess-y" but these crystal ones are so neat! I'm not in the UK and wouldn't spend the $$ to have them shipped over, so I'm just fantasizing here...

But, really, are these just for little girls and their ponies, or do any of you actually use them? :)

I looked up that browband that you mentioned and they were pretty cute. I looked on a site called etsy.com and they have brow bands with stones set into the browbands too. They were pretty expensive too, but I liked looking at them anyway. I justs searched browbands and horse.

The ones made by MIEventer are really great too.

Isn't that one of the reasons we ride and have horses - the fufillment of childhood dreams and that feeling we get from our horses that we are special. - Maybe if you ask Santa he will bring you one for x-mas!

I'm going back to drool over the ones that MIEventer has some more.

Thank you :) Very kind of you to say so :)

You're right though! I would go to horse comps, and I would see people riding around on their horses with beautiful, fancy browbands and I can remember saying to my Hubby "I want one of those" so when I looked them up, I was shocked at the price wanted for them.

There was no way I could afford to buy one, so being from a very arsty/crafty family, I came up with my own creations, for much less.

I love making them, each one is an indavidual and unique and I think the horses who wear them look smashing whether they have crystals or not. What makes me super proud, is seeing someone wearing one of my browbands at a comp, where it makes me warm inside.

That's the best feeling!

My Husband is making me a website and business cards. I'm small, but I thoroughly enjoy it :) I LOVE making them! I love the ideas I get and the colors I can use and the choices of beads and crystals.

The best part out of all of it though - is when I get a picture with the owner beaming the biggest smile standing beside their horse, and hearing how much they love their new browband. That's the best!

I'm in the process right now, making up some gift certificates for the LMHJA's banquet. One of the "Head honcho's" of the organization contacted me and asked if I would donate a couple as door prizes, and I said absolutely!

I know that there are many out there who want pretty things for themselves and their horses, and being able to offer them something, in this economy is my way to make someone feel special.

I'm WAY from being little girl and I got one for my horse (see http://www.horseforum.com/horse-tack-equipment/new-browband-i-got-forum-50516/).

The one you posted you can buy in Dover - I see them there all the time. But personally I'd go with one from MIEventer or Ikle, because they do unique designs, and you have lots of options to choose from (color and shape-wise), especially if you want to match your pad or boots, and have something noone else has :) .

There's a girl at my barn who shows in Eventing and Hunter. She's 16 and has a pink crystal one for her gelding. Perfectly show legal, and she got it at a clinic in georgia for around 10 dollars. You can probablly find some on ebay for alot cheaper than what your looking at

You can glue but I just sew mine on, they last better nothing special any dress shop carry the sew on jewels, as far as your brow band I just buy mine you can get them really cheap on ebay, or if not make one just measure your horses brow get a strip of soft leather not to thick and loop both ends so it will slip on your bridle and cover it... really easy... I made fly masks last year just messing around I had some really fancy ones lol....

I absolutely LOVE those but I have a gelding. I think he would look pretty funny with a shiny, crystal browband, lol. And knowing me I would get it in pink. It's my favorite color. He already has to wear a pink halter. Which he looks sooo cute in by the way, lol.
