Ah yes model number thats what i meant. See, i went out to take a look at a saddle today, and the seller claimed it was a Dakota. However, i couldnt find any emblem on it marking it a Dakota brand, but when i asked about it she said that the emblem was underneath a piece of silver her husband had put on, like the kind in the picture, and she also said there was no way to take off the silver so i could see the emblem underneath. This kind of got me wondering, why would a saddle maker put their emblem in such a small and unnoticeable spot in the rear of the saddle, and not put it on the horn cap or latigo carrier? Didnt make sense to me, and im beginning to have some suspicions about this saddle as she will not remove the silver to show me the emblem..
This would be stamped in the Latigo Carrier along with a Model Number, the also have a metal plate on seat or stamp the logo on frog between skirt halves
Dakota does not use serial numbers
Unfortunately the Model Number do not tell tree size or seat size, only style of Saddle
