I am a new braider, and before doing this on a horse, i did some braids on a doll ( a kelly doll to be exact lol). I did a simple braid first then made a loop, then looped that loop using a needle & thread. I made a few variations to the braids. i don't know if any are correct, or any good, so could you all give me your opinion on which one is the best and such?
I know its sort of hard to judge on a doll but any opinions would be great!

( the green dot in the middle of the 2nd braid is a pin -- i wouldn't be there if it was on a horse lol)

That's a great idea to practice on a doll! Your braids look really good. They don't have to be perfect. I would make them a bit smaller though.
