My face gets really dry in the winter. It literally flakes off if I rub it. It's really yucky. I also get redness in my cheeks. I am using Jack Black Double Duty Moisturizer on it right now, and it works pretty good, but it's kind of expensive and it doesn't do anything for my red splotchy face. Does anybody have any tips or specific products for protecting faces against winter winds?

I have the same problem with the backs of my hands. If I didn't oil my hands, the back parts would literally bleed.

Nivea Soft Body & Face cream (it's pretty cheap) works with my hands but I reckon everything else would work too. About winter winds, there are some greases that have been developed against frostbites. Perhaps you'd try some of them?

Are you sure that your skin isn't atopic?

Well, it only happens in the winter, so I always assumed it was something to do with the cold wind. It got worse when I owned my own horse(out at the barn everyday). I'll try that cream though.

I use Cowboy Magic. Works like a charm and isn't expensive. I think I bought a thing of it last year on ebay and it I still have most of the bottle because you only need a little bit each time you use it.

I use cetaphil lotion (also the cleanser). It's great if you want non-dry skin without breaking out. If you don't have issues with breaking out, really any lotion works

Aveeno has some really good lotion but the stuff I like to use is from the body shop(I in fact only use that). The one I absolutely adore is this one: Cocoa Butter Body Butter - Body Butters & Scrubs

I'm not sure where you are located but I have no doubt in my mind you will find a body shop in your area with these lotions.

I work in healthcare and wash my hands 12-20 times a day and have to keep up with applying lotion after each wash, otherwise with the weather have my hands would be bleeding all the time.

A cheaper alternative is Utterly smooth. Another great product for dry skin: Dry Skin - Get Udderly Smooth Udder Cream for Dry Skin

Good Luck, there are some really good products out there.
