I was so proud of Soda yesterday. We had the fam out for Easter and I told the kiddies I'd take them out for some poneh rides. Flame is pretty much out the picture now due to her continued falling, so the duty was going to fall to Soda. Of course, all my cousins wanted to ride too and my aunt. I was a little worried, but he took it all in stride like the champ he is.
Yes, I know everyone should have helmets/boots/etc on, but they didn't and no one got killed. I wish I had the rest of the pics, but these will have to do. Ended up doing a triple ride to get my 2 yr old 2nd cousin on the horse, he's been too scared to get on yet.
Just got up in the pasture.
"But mom, there's grass"
Asking Daniel if he's ready to go solo, wants to get off, or keep riding with Ash. He wasn't quite ready for a solo ride but didn't want to get off.
Took a couple circuits around the pasture like this. My one cousin kept offering him grass, even though I wanted her behind me to steady the kiddies if they needed it.
Finally up by himself and loving it. Kept saying "giddyup" and "yeehaw" it was pretty darn cute.
This is just funny cuz just about all of us look like idiots. No, he isn't biting at my hand. I'm scratching his lip which he absolutely loves. Comes over for lip scratches in the paddock all the time... weird horse.
My camera died at this point so I don't have the pics of the other kiddies riding by themselves, but everyone had a great time. My older cousins got on and tooled around a little bit. I was really wishing for them to have proper riding gear and more time so I could give them some more pointers. But everyone had a good time and was suitably impressed with my boy.
