I'm so sick of english reins.... My favorite of the sucky reins is the web reins but what ever happened to plain smooth well oiled 1/2" leather reins (essentially curb reins) that DON"T have stops. I hate rubber reins.. I hate laced reins.... I dislike webbed reins.

The only plain leather reins I can find are "western" ya know with all the different kinds of snaps... does anyone know where I can get supple plain leather reins in "english" colors and styles?

These look like good quality and the buckle ends are what I have seen on most english reins. However, I don't know if these are english style or split. :?

Actually, I have a pair for sale at the tack store I work at. They're as wide as a normal rein, but are jut plain leather, no stops, no webbing, just plain leather. They're made by Cal-Tack, and are great quality. Let me know if you'd like more information.

I know I sound crazy... but I like the heaviness of leather reins. I can let my reins loose and still communicate effectively! They don't tangle or twist as bad.. I don't know if its just me but when I'm asking a horse to stretch downward I like the reins to flow smoothly through my hands.

Yes JDI I would like some more information! What color are they? I'm looking for brown and black.

The pair in the store are Havanna brown, but I'm sure you can order any color from him directly. It looks like he's just setting up a website, but I can PM you his contact info if you'd like. I can call him tomorrow and see if he has an email address so you two can be in contact.
