Hey guys!!

I was just wondering what the term "open your hips" mean? I've had trainers say that to me but I'm not quite sure what that means. Can someone please tell me what that means please!! Thank you.

Looking sideways at your body on your horse your hips make an angle (torso is the top part, thigh is the lower part). When you stretch up or even lean back you are making your hip angle bigger, or "opening your hip". When you go into a half seat or 2 point you are closing your hip angle. Does that make sense?

I agree with upnover. Good advice there.

Also, if you don't know what something means, don't be afraid to ask the trainer! That's what they're there for :)
