I think the works high jump is 7 foot something :? By Kevin Bacon I THINK. Im sure a google search would turn up something.

Ive never heard of an actor called Kevin Bacon, but this guy is a New Zealander and he still rides I think. I couldnt find anything about him, but there was something about a Canadian guy who held the record at one stage - 7'10", but who supposably made an unnofficial jump of 8'3".

Google show jumping world record or show jumping height record and there are heaps of pages to go thru.
