I have heard you should never feed a horse right after it is worked. It this just grain? or hay and grass. Fria will try and eat while she is running, and im sure this is more than normal. When we are done working, should I wait a certain time period before she is fed? Or is it ok as long as she is cool, and within a normal respiration rate and settled down.

I'm not sure exactly, but I think it depends. We've talked to lots of people, and everybody seems to have a different opinion. I used to ride at 7:00 and 4:00 at a large stable, and that was either right before dinner or right after, meaning the horses always had hay/grain in their stall when I put them away after cooling them out, and they never really had any 'colic' issues. Some heavier grains I'd worry about, but we fed a brand called safe choice, and they told us not to worry about it. I think if the horse is cool and calm, and not breathing heavily/still sweating, etc. it's fine...
