I am in desperate need of a farrier! My other has proven to be MIA, so I'm in a bind after waiting for him to respond to my messages!

Here is my ad from Facebook:
I'm currently in search of a reliable, reasonable, and experienced farrier!

I'm looking for a farrier who will be able to come out and trim my 17 hh grade gelding on a regular (6-8 week) schedule. Two-Tone is currently barefoot, and I would prefer that he stay that way since he does nothing more than wander the pasture all day. I will warn you ahead of time that he can be a bit of a butt when it comes to trimming because he has gone mysteriously lame (Which I would also like to have checked out by a farrier before turning to a vet). He doesn't bite or kick, but likes to move around and lean. His left front hoof is cracked and has been for at least 6 years (The amount of time that I have had him).

If you are interested in gaining another customer, please either reply here or send me a private message with the following:
1.) How much experience you have
2.) What kind of training you have
3.) Where you received said training
4.) Examples of some of the trims you have done
5.) Price of a trim (Horse is located on Johnsey Bridge Road in Jasper, AL)

I know that this is a bit much to ask for, but I have seen some really bad farrier jobs in the Walker County area, so I would like to make sure that I get the best for my horse.

Exactly how far south of Huntsville are you? PM me if you're not comfortable putting the info on the forum:)

I'm in southern Middle TN. My farriers are brothers and I know they go into AL. I'm not sure how far.

They are trimming and front shoeing a couple horses for another lady on this forum who is also very happy with them.

As far as pricing --- I stay out of that but I will see if they come down your way, if you're interest and can give me a fairly close location - doesn't have to be exact:)

Thanks, lol. I can't ride anymore, so the best I can do to stay in the horse world is try to remember everything and pass along what little I do know :D

I think it is about 90 miles from Huntsville. Last trip through that part of Al I want to say it was an hour and a half ride. OP have you asked the vet or other barns for referrals?

Huntsville and Jasper are about an hour to an hour and a half from each other.

There are no barns in the area for me to ask and I get off too late to call and ask the vet, sadly.
