Curious quesiton, but can you still give Ultium while a mare is pregnant? Will it affect the foal's developement? I've seen some really nice results with my horses, but I need to know if you can still give it her while in foal or even lactating? Opinions? It doesn't mention anything about mares and foals on the bag.

I've thought about using that. My local mill has Ultium Growth. Does it still have the calming effects like The Competition bag? My mare is grumpy and wonder if that may help. Its her first pregnancy too. She's been on Ultium Competiton already, but just wondering.

I have no idea. I have never fed the competition formula and my mare isn't calm, lol! I only gave it for a few months when she was pregnant and then as a treat for the baby once he started eating solid feed. My mare is kind of energetic and she is that way no matter what I feed her, so I can't tell you if it's calming or not.

I just know they like it, it's pricey, and the bag acts like it's a very good feed for growing horses. :)

I've heard several things good things about it but that's all my real question.

you need a lot less of it that other feeds and it has a great energy release system. none of our horses have ever been hyper on it. i think it really helps them keep a good level mind and quicker response

Hmm. Thanks everyone! She's been on Ultium Competition before and did great on it. She was much better on it. Hopefully she does the same of Ultium Growth. :) I really like how you feed a lot less. I went out and bought a purina scoop just to keep accurate. Sorry if I spelled something wrong. I'm rather tired. Its been beneficial to my horses. :)
