I am a first time mom who is TERRIFIED of my horse going lame... So natrually it happed within a year of me purchasing Copper.

Anywho after process of emilination the vet figured out that he had a bad shoe. She removed the shoe, and told me to apply ichthammol and wrap for a week. I'm still in that week but already he isn't limping at all when walking (only slightly when trotting), I've seen him shift his weight onto the hurt hoof, and he doesn't refuse to give me his other front hoof when cleaning. I know all these signs point to a good recovery, and I love and trust his vet 100% with him. However, as I said before he is my first horse, and I still wonder if I'm not doing all I can do for him. Is there advise/experience anyone can give? I just want him to be okay as soon as possible.

Thanks!
