I did these in 2009, it was the IEA Horse Trails at the Hoosier Horse Park.

These are just a handful. This was the first time I ever used the lens I used. The first time I every seen eventing in person. The first time I'd ever photographed a real sport like this.

So they are not great, but I wanted to share. It took a year to get this disk of photos I took. I was the assistant photographer for the contracted photographer for that event in 2009.

Since I was the assistant, I have to put the water mark on these photos if I'm going to share them. She was kind enough to send them to me so I could add them to my collection.

I was there for nine hours. I took thousands of photos of hundreds of competitors but I've only gotten though half of one disk. Of course the Hoosier Horse Fair is this weekend and I'll have even more photos to sort. So here is just these cross country photos for now.

Great shots!

I love the blue and yellow team - love that pad! Great seeing all the varieties of horses, great to see the Halflinger!

LOL, love the face expression of the lady dropping into the water - rofl.

I SAW PETAL BOOTS! WOO HOO! Only us cool eventers use petal boots.
Those photo's are beautifully taken! From one photographer to another.

I have to add, the 9th pic made me laugh out loud. For real! Not nice, i know.
The lady dropping into the water is Phillippa Humphreys. Haha. I know an Intermediate rider who trains with her. Her helmet always cracks me up but man is she a good rider!
I don't get what helmet that is? Looks like a batters helmet when they are up for bat.
those are awsome! lol that one ladys face is funny.
It's a European thing, MIEventer ;)

The second one is AMAZING. It's a great shot.
wow, those are seriously good photos!! You are way too good to be shooting as just an assisant, you need to get out there and do it on your own!
I'd be happy to have those shots in my portfolio.
What gear are you shooting with?

Being in the business myself, I've seen a lot of other photographers work and there are quite a few who could learn from you!!

I was using a Canon XTI and a 70-200 f 2.8 The day I shot these photos was the first time I'd ever touched the 70-200. I still am having a lot of trouble with focus and stuff though. :(
Woo, I wanna see more. Its not often that a photographer can perfectly capture a moment and the feeling in that and you've done it :):) I love your photography. If you're ever in Australia, tell me!
