My mare, lastchancepocococo (AQHA) aka Gizmo, is due to foal early-mid February. She's bred to a homozygous APHA black and white paint stallion named EZMOVIN King Amigo. Both can be found on all breed pedigree. Foal will be registered and shown.

Gizmo has separated herself from the other mares, tail constantly raised, unusually lovey, bagging up, vulva has gotten a lot longer/swollen, hip muscles relaxing and getting up and down quite a bit more than normal. She seems miserable and as big as a house. Will post photos. She's an awesome little cow horse. Can't wait to see this foal!!

Also, my other AQHA mare, Baby Boo Dust (halter horse) was bred at the same time and didn't take, was bred the next month and again vet checked open. She had a uterine infection that was missed in her pre-breeding checkup or it developed after her checkup, the vet put antibiotics inside her uterus, she's gotten a pretty decent belly on her that I thought was a grass belly but she's starting to get a bag. Vet doesn't have an open appointment until a month after what would be the latest possible due date. He is the only vet I trust around here so can't have her checked. Could she be bagging up due to the other mare getting close?

Thanks for reading and about how long do you think Gizmo will have left?

the 2nd mare could be going through a false pregnancy. sometimes horomones just run crazy. but if she is bagging up, id want to know for sure to ease my mind, so i personally would be getting a vet check before i pulled my hair out strand by strand.

im eagerly awaiting pictures...

Lol hair currently being pulled out. Probably will call my back up vet tomorrow. It's been too long since we have had a mare bred.

Good luck! I hope you can get some rest while on foal watch! Wanna have a race? Lol your mare against mine? It sounds like they are similar based on your description. Our mare has a not-quite-full bag and has acted like she was in full-on first stage labor twice this week. (Including soft stools one night). She's also holding her tail up (and to the side) all the time since Wednesday or Thursday. Vulva long, relaxed, swollen and red inside.

Keep us updated! I can't wait to see pictures and I'm curious to hear how your foal watch is going.
