Hi i am new here so hope i'm posing in right place lol..
I have just bought my son a horse. He was a lesson horse right up to the time i bought him in Decemeber. He is 25 years old. Very gentle on the ground and in saddle. The only vice he has in food aggression. Not towards the other horses but towards the family. He has the common ears pinned nostrils flared tail tensed. Very aggressive looking. If you stand by his food an not let him get it till he backs off he is still holding the pinned ears. If you turn your back to walk away he will bite you. He only tries to bite during feeding time. I need help to try and nip this in the bud before my son, who is 8, gets hurt.

thankyou i have just watched the video an i will now be going up to the stable to try it out. I can see a very long week ahead of me lol

Ok i have just tried the method in the video.. He knows this stuff. The minute i started doing this he backed off an no aggression was shown. I think he is just being a bully to us newbies. he was such a nice gentle horse the few days we had him then turned into the equine version of cujo lol .. So now i just have to show the other members of the family how to do the things i did this morning. I am glad it wasn't something too hard to deal with. Will keep updated on progress .
