Hi im new to this forum but i was wondering if anyone has a 17h+ horse for sale that could do hunters and is nice enough for A shows. I'd like to stay 7,000 or below but will go to 10,000. Im located in NC so any surrounding state im willing to travel.

have you put those criteria into dreamhorse.com? something may come up there. i've seen some really nice horses on there for between 15 and 20 thousand. so you may have to pay a bit more than you wanted, but its worth the look

Trakhnerwelshie you have no clue what your talking about. I have won at A shows on horses that were bought for next to nothing and were trained well maybe it depends on the rider too?

A 17h hunter who is A quality will just not come that cheap. You could buy a fancy OTTB for cheap, but a horse that already does A hunters? No.
I suggest you look for a very green horse, or an OTTB. You could find some nice ones in that price range, but I doubt you will find one that can already do hunters.

If you are just looking for one to train, with the *potential* that is one thing, but a made hunter? Not unless he is at the very end of his career

I have to agree with Trakhnerwelshie and 1dog....you'd have trouble finding a greenie with the potential to do the As in that price range in central Virginia. 17hh plus makes it even more difficult.

Also, there's no need to be rude about the responses you receive....you posted a question on a public forum, you'll get a variety of responses from a variety of viewpoints.
