Hi every one

My name is Margaretha. I own 2 gorgeous and generous Friesian mares and two mischievious Iberian stallions with definite designs on my mares. I have been riding for about 4 years. I live in the sun-drenched south of France (where it has been raining no-stop for 3 days), about 90 minutes south-east of Bordeaux at Le Manoir d'Alegria, an early 19th century manor house that needs a lot of TLC.

I have joined the forum hoping to get advice from more experienced horse people, as my own knowledge and experience is somewhat limited. I am a medical doctor and a certified NLP practitioner. A couple of years ago, I retired early from medical practice, because I wanted to find a way of helping people that combines my medical knowledge and experience with my love for horses. When I came across equine-assisted experiential learning I was hooked, from the first instance. I am now a level 2 EAGALA certified partitioner.

That may all sound very impressive, but the problem is that looking after 4 horses (one a foal of 8 months) is more challenging that acquiring any of the qualifications mentioned above.

Because I love working with people as much as with horses, I host residential, all-inclusive 5-day holiday workshops for horse lovers at Alegria. The workshops focus on MENTAL fitness and mind tools for equestrians and is based on equine-assisted learning. The courses are presented during important horse riding events in our region, such as the prestigious 5-day eventing competition in Pau. The condensed workshop content is also available as a handy e-book, called Supreme Self-Confidence for Horse Lovers.

I have just published a 7-part online e-course for horse lovers - it is sort of in “beta” phase, and I wondered if any-one would be willing to subscribe to it (free of charge, of course) and give me feed-back about the contents, especially about the horse-related side.

Hi Tinyliny

No, I am not English, but I am married to a Scot and we speak English (Scottish???) at home - and I have a very good spell check on my computer! Our horses respond to commands in Portugese (the iberians) Dutch (friesians) French and English -pretty decent and tolerant of them...

From the Charente to Canada, Yoshi! Very brave - whereabouts in Canada?

Thank you for all the replies and subscriptions -please let me know if there are any hick-ups and if the free e-books with each instalment are appropriate. I always wonder if people actually read these or if they end up gathering dust somewhere in a Document file. I tried to choose ones of interest to horse people like the Ancient Art of Taming and Training Arabians, Horse Riding for Dummies, How to buy a Horse etc. I also hope the self-help e-books like Guaranteed Success, Never enough Time etc. hit the spot.

I do advertise my residential workshops and my own e-book in the course- is the advertising too much or too pushy? Or not enough?

Would really appreciate your opinions.

Margaretha:think:
