I think you will enjoy riding in a western saddle. I agree about the leather not plastic/fake saddles. Real leather is much safer and better quality. You can find good quality leather saddles fairly cheap on e-bay. Teaching a horse to neck rein is very simple. It wont take long and you will be a one handed girl.

I just will be doing trail riding in a western saddle basically but I want to teach him to neck rein and all and eventually work up to riding in a curb bit and all like that
