I'm sending prayers your way. I know its hard to lose a horse you love so much but you did the right thing. He is with his friend now, i'm sure they are galloping around having fun.

The worst part is that I can't get the image of him suffering and dying as we waited for the vet.
That memory will fade into the background eventually, I promise. You'll never not forget it, but you also won't continue to dwell on it.

His death is still fresh and raw. You'll be able to move past this memory in time, and remember all the good things.

My deepest condolences, and prayers for peace to you and yours.

I am sorry for you loss. You stayed with Gibson til the end. That was better than any pain killer would have been.

A friend sent me this when I had to put Pete down this past April. It some how comforted me.

^ that made me tear up. beautiful and touching.

Today has been rough. I had to work, and had a long and hard day at work. Still thinking of Gibson's pain and suffering, I can't help it. I hope to go have a chat with my one alive horse tomorrow. He is very sensitive and will give me soft gentle hugs. Trying to stay positive here, I really appreciate all the support. Everyone's kind words have really helped me stay sane during this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even bear to think about leasing my horse, let alone giving him that final release. You are very brave. It sounds like he no longer found the joy in life since Mason passed away, so I hope their spirits are together, forever young and healthy.

That is my thoughts exactly. Within days of Mason passing, he spent more time cribbing then eating. His personality changed from spunky and pushy to just dull and lifeless. He also aged soooo fast. He is buried close to Mason now, and for that I'm more at peace.

Yep. The tears are flowing now.

Your a brave soul for being able to make that choice, and I am sure he is grateful for that. He looks like a beautiful creature...

Thanks again everyone, we are both at peace now.

I am happy to say that the 2 years I've had him were fun and relaxing. He was a very sweet horse and I'm lucky to have taken a chance on him. He helped me mourn Mase and stay positive. He has a place in my heart, and I'll keep his memories for ever <3
