Sometimes I'll give my goat some human food, is this bad? Though, the only kind of human food he gets is organic.
Like, sometimes he'll be hanging out on my backporch ( we're getting a gate for the porch now! ) and I'll just go give him some organic croutons. Is human food bad for goats?

Since he's a whether, a little treat now and then wont hurt him. If he was a dairy milker, though, and you gave her those croutons, you'd have garlic flavored milk *lol*
that would be kinda cool to experament with, as long as it wasn't harming the goat in any way. I don't like experiments on animals, jsut see if you really would get flavored milk....hmm

At the place I used to live in Washington, wen I got my dairy goats, I found out I had wild onions growing in my pasture. Would have never known otherwise. But found out the second day they were there. Day one, their milk was normal, day two, it actually SMELLED like onions as I was milking them, it was disgusting. And trust me, wild onions are NOT easy to locate and dig up out of 10 acres of pasture. I learned early on to keep my goats confined to a smaller yard I could closely monitor every single leaf they were eating *lol*

Hello again, I reckon that as long as your goats get a normal "goaty" balanced diet, treats dont hurt them at all. However I would never give ours anything dairy, including chocolate, and there are certain plants which are deadly for them too (including azaleas, rhodies, and avocado fruit).. You can get a list of these on most goat-health sites on the net... On the whole they are pretty hardy animals, but can get colic just like a horse if the get too much of the wrong food.. A goat with no treats would NEVER be happy! Ours expect them, and bleat until they are satisfied..

No its not bad, but don't give him tomatoes or potatoes they are very harmful. I feed my goats graham crackers and mints they love them. They also have goat treats know my goats have feel in love with them.
