Hey all,
Here is an update on my mare and my own riding! Hope this is the right place for all this..

I cannot tell you all how excited I am. My girl will be coming home on the 25th of Feb.

The last time I went to visit I did get on her and just walked her out after the trainer rode her. He told me to bring my hard hat and boots next time I came up.
After the last visit we had some crazy weather so I decided to just wait it out until he had a good run of dry weather.
Yesterday I called to ask if this monday would be a good day for a visit.
He said this was fine.

One thing I was trying to coordinate was for my dressage trainer/instructor to come with me to visit Candi. As some of you may remember she was the one who strated working with Candi but then fell ill and wasn't able to ride for quite some time.
She is now much better and riding again so I my hopes are that we will both get to hop on Candi and see how it goes.

While Candi has been gone. I put myself in "rider boot-camp" I did this because I felt I needed to try and gain my seat and confidence back. My dressage trainer and I have worked very hard on this. I literally took approx 6-10 lessons a week on a few different mounts, for the past 6-8 weeks and I still am riding about 8 hours a week.
My dressage trainer is amazed at how much and how far I have come. In fact our last lesson she said at the end. "Wow...I am so excited for you"

See I had to re-learn how to use and position my body! After 5 years of living with pain and injuries to my left arm, my neck, and then a knee injury...I walked around in "protection mode"
Even though I rode for many years the long break in between and then all the injuries, left me with many quirks and faults to work out.

But....In the end, seding my mare out, and putting myself into a rigorous riding program has paid off 10 fold.

The man training my mare told me that Candi is doing real well. He enjoys that she a good mind about her and doesn't get "nutty". He said she has really begun to listen to his seat and leg. He even popped her over some small cross rails.

Okay...enough with all of this.
I want to say one more thing....

Thank you Horse Forum members!
You all have helped me through much of this process and I really appreciate it.:D

I now feel confident enough to move on to the next phase of my own training as well as Candi's

Thanks Seahorseys.

This is just such a wonderful experience for a person that at one point was unsure if they would ever be able to ride and work with horses again.

Dreams can come true if we work for them.

I for sure plan to have my camera and video cam with me. I don't really know how to put video on you tube so I may just have to post a pic or two. We shall see.
