just like the other i just put goldfish in my horses trough and one seems to be living but i haven't seen the other one... the store i bought them from said they will live if they have oxygen in the water... does that matter or will they be fine... my horses like to splash in the water would that make the oxygen in it??? i also see bubbles in the water above the heater does that mean there is oxygen or what?????

The ones I had last summer I had to add water to everyday.

Sorry for kinda stealing this thread, but I have never heard of putting fish in water troughs. What does it do?
They eat mosquito larvae and some algae.

But, I agree, add a little bit of fresh water everyday - that will ensure they have enough oxygen in the water. If there are bubbles around the heater that's not a good sign. When I had goldfish as a kid, clumps of bubbles would form around the edge of the tank at the water line as a sign that the water needed to be changed... or so the pet store told me.
