...I did that stuff all the time when I was a kid/young teen. There are worse things in the world than desensitizing with blankets, or kids pretending to fall off. I fondly remember my riding buddies and I riding by and falling off into fresh shavings, and my one friend trying her best to spook her horse, who always gave her the same "really? Better luck next time..." expression.
Harmless fun, and I don't see anything wrong with goofing off as long as both human and horse are safe. Someone wants to pretend to fall off? Fine by me... if they do it wrong, they'll sprain something. It isn't hurting the horse, and they'll learn if they do it wrong.

Like JDI said, there is worse. They could be slapping them with crops and spurs, trying to act like cowboys. I goof off with my horses, but it desensitizes them too. In the round pen I jump off Artie's back, slide off his butt, etc. Unless it hurts the horse, I have no problem with it.

I usded to this and waay more with my first pony and by the time i sold her nothing fazed that mare it was amazing she just took everything in her stride!!
she was so good that she went on trial the very day i decided to sell her.

all ids have fun with there ponies thats what its all about the best sight i find is a group of girls all riding together in fits of laughter usually playing a game of some sort and there ponies loving it
