I just got Cory in May and he has had drippy eyes all summer. I had them examined and all ok. About a month ago he had a cut under his eye and it got infected. Once again had vet out and after antibiotics it was all clear. The last couple of days it is extra goopy and looks like a small scratch on the lower eye area. Could this all be allergies and maybe he somehow scratched it? I worry extra because he is an appolossa and they are more prone to uvietus.

Also, be aware of any changes in the texture of the skin around his eye or eyelid itself. Squamous can be an issue with pink-skinned horses and especially sensitive areas like the eye.

I have made myself crazy with worry between fear of uvietus and protecting his nose from sunburn. Definitely a high maintenance guy. Every type of fly mask he has gotten off. He is out with a herd but comes in twice a day to eat.
