I'm sure this question has been asked to death, but I'm new to the color thing. My only other grey horse was a paint/TB cross that had already whitened when I got him at the age of 10. Stormy is a 3 year old (will be 4 on April 1) TB mare and has a pedigree of greys. Both parents (racehorses Buddha and Peleliu) were grey/roan, both grandparents on her sire's side were grey/roan (Unbridled Song & Cahooters) and her dam's mother was grey roan while her dam's sire was dark bay.

This is a picture of her now. I don't really care if she whitens or not (love her no matter the color), but with so much grey in her bloodlines I didn't know if that mattered whether she might stay the same color or whiten like the majority. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

The only "grey" looking horse that won't would be a blue roan.. or some Grullas. But-they don't usually have those steel grey dapples…...
