Have you ever had a spook that left you in a downright funny position?
Today was one of those days.
We started out with a little water desensitizing, just the hose on his hooves for fun, and to clean all the caked mud off so I could trim his hooves. I got a new rasp today so decided to give it a whirl and trim up his feet. He stood quietly while little Gracie held him. The trim took an hour or so, but his feet look amazing and he is walking so much better, no more tripping on those long
oops
toes! Yay!
Then we went for a little ride. Again, my horse is a freak of nature and started suppling himself as soon as I was on his back, bending to each side and sniffing my boots. We rode for about a hour before deciding to walk into this little clearing where an old gate and washing machine sit. He did great until we turned around, took a few steps and he decided the washing machine wanted to eat him, out of the blue.... And took a good few rearing leaps and galloped for all of 20 feet(lol) then decided to stop and chill. I just went with him knocked off balance, standing on one stirrup, other leg over the seat of the saddle...lol(isn't it amazing what positions you can get into during a god spook?).Thank goodness moms saddle fits him so well, I did not want to grab him in the mouth so I grabbed horn instead. Then just as calm as anything he walked off when I clucked him and we continued riding for another hour or so.
All in all, great day!
