I'm on www.FarmersOnly.com right now and enjoying it... I tried EHarmony and did NOT! The matches they sent me were not what I was looking for and even when I tried to talk to them you had to go through so much to finally really communicate!

FarmersOnly so far seems like people who are into what I am into as far as animals and the quieter life, but I am just curious if anybody here ended up marrying someone they met online?

I found FarmersOnly because my friend married a guy she met on there!!!

I've sometimes considered online dating or escort sites but always decided not to try them... The only thing I've done is I've mentioned that I'm interested in dating/relationship (or whatever it's in English there) on Facebook.

I don't know, I just think I want to meet the Right One when the time is right, without offering myself and searching offered guys on these sites.

I haven't, only because I'm married and those sites weren't around when I was single. If they were I wouldn't have any problem at all with finding love through one. These days if you want to have romance you have to put yourself out there.
My mom met her husband via a travel companions company. It wasn't online at the time but I think it is now. It basically matched singles up who wanted to travel and had the means, but didn't want to go alone. They met, traveled together for a few months, then got married.
I have a newly divorced friend who is looking into them so any input on this thread would be appreciated.

I met my hubby on Match.com. I was divorced for quite a few years and just not meeting anyone so I thought what the heck. I browsed for a while before posting a profile. I had seen someone I knew from work on there so didn't put any pictures up. But, because I am 6' tall and like tattoos and piercings (all in my profile), my hubby decided to send me an email. He knew from our first date I was the one...it took me 2 more to realize he was the one. LOL We've been happily married for 3 years.

But I will say, before that first date, I left his cell phone, work phone, name and place of work with my best friend. I told her where I was going, what time etc and said if she didn't get a text from me that evening after the date, to send out a search party! We had talked on the phone quite a bit before the first face to face meeting but you cannot be too careful!

I met my boyfriend online, not on a dating site though. We've been together for nearly a year and a half now. :)

I, myself have never tried it. I happened to find the man of my dreams through work.
I know someone who's met her boyfriend online. It's turned out really well so far. Tho online dating is not something I would have tried, it is considered a lot more acceptable by society than maybe even a couple years ago. You just have to be careful with it. Use your best judgement to keep yourself safe :)

I tried it a couple years ago, but it was because my friends harassed me to. I wasn't ready to date yet. If my current boyfriend and I don't work out I'll probably try it again though. Seemed like a good way to meet some new people.

YES! My hubby and I met on OKCupid...we met for lunch, and it was love at first sight! I had been arried twice before, and was just interested in dating, not marriage. But, when I saw Garth, it was like " Oh, THERE you are! I've been looking all over for you!" I KNEW him. And it wasn't like I have ever experienced before. I know now that I have never been in love before now. It felt scary and weird and odd...but oh, so right! There are a few songs that I think express it best...they pretty much sum it up..."If this is love, I must be doing something wrong" And "Love should never feel like this..."

I tried with little sucess. Maybe I just attract loosers??

My bf and I met throught a good friend from grade school. They both work at Crayola.

It seems like when you dont try you find the right one, and when you try it takes even longer.

I had stopped looking for guys online or in real life, stopped going onto dating sites, and the next week my now-fiance contacted me through MySpace! LOL! It definately happens when you least expect it...

I've never had any success with dating sites, I'm tall and I always say I'm looking for a man who's taller than me (ie he needs to be at least 6ft tall) and yet everytime without failure all I get is guys of 5'4", 5'7" and the like contacting me ...

I tried several online dating sites. Met some nice men, some not so nice men, and a few whackadoos.

I never really 'clicked' with any of the nice guys, although I made a few good friends.

My current SO and I met the old fashioned way; through a mutual friend.

We've been going strong now for about 3 1/2 years, and I think it helps that he was raised on a farm and has been around horsewomen most of his life.

"...helps that he was raised on a farm and has been around horsewomen most of his life. "

My brother in law thinks (along with a lot of males, including our vet!) that horsewomen are certifiable. When I had a bad accident and broke my arm, all he could do is roll his eyes when all the other horsewomen oohed and aahhed and laughed at the incident! Did I get right back on, and still ride today? Yessir!

I met my husband on an equestrian forum much like horseforum.com :) We started chatting after I recognised the backdrop of a photo of him on his motorcycle as being where my sister lives in NY. Then a few weeks later I bought a plan ticket to go visit my sister and hope of meeting Jon, turns out he went to school right near my sister and invited me to his fraternity formal. Was love at first sight, hehe :)

Awww some cute stories on here. I have to say that I completely agree about finding love when you least expect it. I actually try to not go on a date with my current bf when we first officially exchanged phone numbers

I had taken the first step but ended up being to caught up with family to actually want to go out with the poor man. Right after our first date tho, I knew he was the one. I haven't looked back since.

Definitely when it's least expected. One night I went into one of the VA rooms in Yahoo chat after coming home mad at the world. I was just looking for some poor guy to yell at. I messaged a hello to a guy with one of the goofiest pictures you have ever seen, and ended up marrying him almost 2 years later. We've been married for 3 years 5 mths.
