So I have seemed to have found myself in a rather sticky situation and I am totally facepalming and headdesking right now.
In October I rescued a mare from starvation and a rather iffy living situation. I was looking for a horse to replace my TB that just wasn't going to work out for me. I heard about her through the grapevine and went to go check her out. Now I knew that she wasn't really my kind of horse when I went to see her but I didn't want to leave her there, so I bought her pretty cheap.
After a month of getting her back into shape and getting weight on her I was still not really smitten with her and still maintained that I was glad that I could get her out of the bad barn but I didn't think that I really wanted to keep her.
All this time a friend and current owner of the barn that I was keeping her at really liked her and I also felt very pressured by her to somehow make Malibu work out and to keep her.
Well at the end of December my parents told me that they were no longer going to support my horse habit so I wasn't going to be able to keep Malibu regardless. I managed to lease her out to what I thought was going to be a really good home.
Turns out that she is being returned to me and I have 30 days to find her a new home as I don't have any place to keep her any more. AAHH!
Now in the meantime this friend and I have had a bit of a falling out (read as MAJOR drama). However, hoping that I may be able to patch up the relationship some I offered Malibu to her.
She said she would take her. I told her that she has had further training on her and that I was going down tuesday to see what that training is, and that her price would reflect that. She emails me back saying that she doesn't care and that going down to check her out won't be necessary, and wants to know how soon she can pick her up. Excuse me? Still my horse last time I checked.
Oh, and she wants me to make her some kind of deal. I was going to tell her I would take half of what I was going to advertise Malibu to the public as, but now I am not so sure if I want to.
Bah! Never do business with friends, it never seems to turn out well!
