Just joining the forum here, thought I would say hi! I'm a student at the University of Maine, will be graduating in May! I ride mostly on the trails, but have done a little of everything. I would LOVE to learn dressage, but have memory issues with the patterns so that's going to be something that I'll need lots of time to focus on....I'll get around to it eventually. I love most horses, and most styles of horsemanship...and in any weather. Have been riding through the winter, minus a few -30 days where I hid inside. =)

Welcome to the forum Amlalriiee :D Your tougher than I am, I stay out of the saddle if its below 30. No way I'd be out in -30:lol:
Hi! Welcome to the forum - I live in Maine too! :) If you do end up doing dressage, I'm sure I'll see you around haha!

Where do you ride?? I have been to Puckerbrush a few times, which I know is a popular place for dressage....can't afford lessons at the moment, though.

Vidaloco: I didn't ride that day! haha, we did ride on the beach one day for a few hours and it was 0 degrees and windy though...I was frozen!
Welcome! I'm also from central Maine. Good to see more of us "maniacs" are finding our way to the Horse Forum. Have fun!
Yes, and I saw yet another one today(Mainiac that is)! I definitely have been having a good time, and you have fun as well :) It's finally nice out and great riding weather! I was out today in the Newport area and the trails were a little slippery, but not too bad!
Nice area there. Are you having any issues with breaking through the frost? That's the biggest issue here (China) right now. Amazing what one week of warm weather can do to the ground. Have fun riding, I'm conditioning tack getting ready for riding! LOL!
Yes, we've had to keep it at a walk in snowy/icy areas because the horses are punching through quite a bit. SO, we've been choosing trails that have stretches of gravel or dirt road so that we'll be able to trot some. I can't wait til the trails are clear of snow and ice...it is pretty...but hinders riding!!!
