I would try vasaline i use it for everything, girth gauls, saddle sores, blanket sores everything!
Although it does sound like Liece- flee's the same thing happened to my coloured a few years ago!
I thought it was just a really really bad saddle sore but then i looked deeper in to it after a couple of months, and relised that it was liece! i purchased stuff for it at my loacal equestrian store!
I asked the shop assistant and she helped me out!
