Hi everyone, I have a friend and she has a new QH pony and she is only 3 years old and my friend that owns her is only 13 and i really don't think she is ready for a horse that young, me and my other friend really want to help her and her horse but when we tried to ask her she just said "NO! Me and my pony are just fine and she is going nicely and we don't need your help!!" But they really do!! Everytime she puts even just one foot wrong she screams at her pulls on her mouth (with a bit in) and wacks her and gets angry and the horse is really young and doesnt know shes doing wrong and really does need someone who can point her in the right direction and an expirienced rider and someone who knows what they are doing but the girl who owns her really doesnt have much expiriece and has only been riding for a few years, please I need HELP and fast before its too late!!

Any suggestions will do!!

Talk to her parents. Explain that she will ruin the pony with that kind of treatment, and she may get hurt. Have them insist that the girl ride with a trainer. If they're not willing to help and the girl isn't going to listen to you, then there's nothing you can do. Just wait it out and be there for her (or the pony) when she's hit bottom and the pony is either dangerous or lost her mind.

Yeah i see what your saying but she does have an riding instructor but she hasnt said anything bout it and its because she never wacks//screams//gets angry when her riding instructor is around so she can't help her and its only infront of her mates (me and my friend are the only horsey people around her) that can see shes doinmg wrong, she does have a really BAD temper.

Perhaps you could ask her how she'd feel if you & your other friend started treating her in the manner she treats her poor horse.... Perhaps you're willing to tell her that you won't ride with her anymore if she treats the horse like that because you can't stand by & watch cruelty....

I agree with Loosie above. I'd put my foot down if she were my friend. Take a video of her riding sometime, then show it to her and explain that what she's doing is wrong and you won't ride with her anymore if she keeps it up.
