Hi, new here, my names Sharon, I'm newly married to the most amazing guy in the world and we live in Andalucia Spain with our 5 dogs, 3 horses and a tortoise and a partridge in a pear tree.
I've lived in Spain nearly 11 years now, before that I lived in Tennessee and I was born in the UK.
My amazing new hubby (of a week...never thought I would get married again lol last 3 are still alive and not by choice) surprised me and bought us a farm, went to view it last thing I thought was we would buy it lol. I've been out of horses since I moved to Spain but since I met him he knew how much I missed them.
I got my first pony when I was 2, now nearly 50...how the hell I've got to this age I will never know.....more luck than judgement.
I'm a natural horsemanship instructor, equine veterinary tech but haven't done the job for 20 years as couldn't stand to see horses destroyed so instead I own a real estate company...don't judge me it doesn't make me a liar lol I'm actually very honest....a beauty products company (all hand made) and we have a property rental company, we rent out several of our own properties. I spent several years in my younger days in the military where I show jumped and played polo for the Royal Navy.
I now have my 3 boys, all rescues, Beau is a 16.1 grey Andalician stallion with an attitude and knows he's gorgeous, Roddy is a grey 16h Andalucian x Lusitano, and Otto is a 16h grey...absolutely no idea what breed or cross but definitely a bit of Andalucian in him.
All 3 of my boys have been through a horrendous time, Beau was stabled from birth to 7, only allowed put to breed and break, he was badly beaten with pitch forks, shovels and anything else the...well no words to describe the oxygen theives... he's come a long way now but still a lot of work to do.
Roddy was abandoned as a foal after being beaten, starved and horrendously neglected and then left to die, he has turned into the most gentle boy, nearly time to break him for my hubby now, can't wait to teach Kev to ride.
Otto....we have no idea, he is scared of his own shadow, terrified of humans and its going to be a long road for this special boy but we will get there.
Our five fur babies are Willie Wilf Lucy Lola and Lilly, when we got Beau...the first of the trio, Willie pee'd up his leg and then realised he was alive and stared at me as if to say what the hell have you fed this dog!!!
We are located in a rural area in the mountains of Andalucia, the most amazing place, we need to be rural the hubby is a petrol head and loves his cars and motorbikes, and I do too, but neighbours were probably a bad idea lol.
We have been married a week today, and can't wait for the rest of our lives. I'm trying to convince him at the moment that fostering a horse until its rehomed is a good idea as we do have the land and the time....watch this space.....I will succeed!!!
We have 10 stables, several acres and it's so peaceful and the views are stunning and only 45 mins to the beach. Only thing I can't stand about here....centipedes...loath and despise them...had two in the kitchen and there was a dust storm behind me as I ran in my nightdress up the driveway to escape. Much to the amusement of our mechanic whi was fixing one of the cars!!
Thats a bit about me, if i could give any advice it would be never give up, live laugh and love.
Hope to get chatting with you guys, and that's a bit about us. Time to go and remove piles of horse poop.
